Backup Your Android Phone To Computer

It is always good to plan ahead. Think of future for everything , keep your plans ready for upcoming days and your life will be much more easier. Setting up a backup for your phone is one of the part of this process. Maybe your phone is working excellent today and you don’t have any problem in it’s functioning but since technology is very unpredictable , no one knows when it will start creating troubles for you. For a safe side you should always create a Backup of all your data stored on your device into your computer or some other secondary storage device in order to keep it safe.

Luckily, Google syncs many of your contacts, calendar appointments, docs, and even app purchases with your Web-accessible Gmail account as long as you give Google permission to do so. Apart from, Google there are several other programs that can backup the same data and your apps , photos ,videos wirelessly to the cloud. So here I am providing you the best way to create backup for your Android phone.

Backup Your Settings

  • Google's Android offers the ability to seamlessly save certain Settings to their servers using your Google account. To enable it :
  • Go to Settings > Personal > Backup and reset and then select both Backup my data and Automatic restore.
  • Now Go to Settings > Personal > Accounts & Sync and select your Google account.
  • Select all of the option boxes listed, to ensure that all available data is synced.
The procedure given above may slightly vary between Android devices depending upon the Android versions of devices but the process is generally the same.

Backup Your Media Files

If you wish to save your Media files to your computer , you can easily do it manually without installing any third party tool or software for this purpose. The reason for this manual backup is that almost every good backup software is either paid or requires your phone to be rooted.

To create backup manually follow steps given below :

Connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable and wait until it detects your phone. Once it is shown as an external storage device start the procedure of backing up. (Windows Users )
For Macs, you may need to first download a tool called Android File Transfer. You can download it from Here : DOWNLOAD

Go to your phone’s icon under My Computer and browse to the DCIM folder. This folder contains your video and picture data.
Select the other data files and folders which you want to back up, drag them to any drive which you feel safe for backing up in your computer and start copying.

Backup Automatically using Samsung Kies

Samsung Kies is a very popular utilities software for Android smartphones which can perform many tasks like Backup and Restore of SMS , Contacts , Multimedia Files , Bookmarks , Settings and much more. It also provides service to update firmware of your phone to it’s latest version available. But unfortunately it works only with Samsung phones. So if you are a user of Samsung brand then this can do all the backup of your phone automatically for free. When Kies detects that your phone is connected, it will display an icon of your phone along with information about how much free space you have left. On the top, you will see a row of tabs , Simply click “Backup/Restore” and check the box at the top for all items.
